Summer Off to a Great Start
A Super Successful B+ 5k
Thank you to our sponsors and everyone who joined us, near and far, for our 20th Annual B+ 5k Run/Walk. It was a HUGE success! We had about 1,750 people and raised nearly $150,000!!! Most importantly, we had a great time honoring our B+ Heroes - kids with cancer and their siblings.
B+ Hero Lauren
“Thank you so much for your generous contribution to Lauren's medical bills. I am so sorry to hear about your son. Thank you for the wonderful work you are doing to honor him.
I wanted to tell you a little bit about Lauren. In 2024, in the middle of 6th grade and after several months of pain (which we thought were growing pains), Lauren was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer. She endured 3 months of chemotherapy, and 8 hr leg salvage surgery (now has a titanium rod that goes from the top of her femur to below her knee) and then another 4 months of chemotherapy. These were the darkest days of my family's life.
In September of 2024, Lauren completed treatment, was declared cancer free and rang the bell.
In relentless bone cancer fashion - on NYE 2025, Lauren fell at a party and had to redo the 8 hr femur surgery and go back on crutches for another 12 weeks along with months of physical therapy. We didnt let this obstacle bring us down as we were just happy to have Lauren here with us on earth. In April 2026, Lauren had to have leg lengthening surgery and her internal prosthetic was lengthened 2cms due to a recent growth spurt. Your funds assisted in the out of pockets expenses for the leg lengthening surgery - THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!
I am so happy to tell you that Lauren is 22 months cancer free and will be going into 9th grade in August! Attaching some photos of Lauren along with a photo of our entire family on our Make A Wish trip last May.
Thank you again for the donation and please know these funds allow families to live worry free and not have to stress about the cost of medical bills.”
Hope you make this a great week.
