Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Last Saturday night, I had the privilege of being on the field at Citizen’s Bank Park with my family as we helped to hold a huge gold ribbon in the outfield in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. And, at the end of the 6th inning, the entire crowd waved small gold ribbons (see picture). It was very moving seeing the Phillies and Royals players joining in as well. Boy, we’ve come a LONG way in awareness in the 18 years that I have been fighting for the kids with cancer. Thank you very much to Nemours Children’s Hospital for hosting us and to the Philadelphia Phillies and Kansas City Royals for your support.
DelDOT 5k
I can’t think of a time when a government - state or federal - held a fundraising event for childhood cancer. Last Saturday in Millsboro, DE, the Delaware Dept of Transportation (DelDOT) held a 5k on a road that hasn’t opened yet. What a cool experience for the 300+ people to run a 5k on a stretch of highway. This event was made possible by DelDOT wanting to support a B+ Hero Family - B+ Hero Maren - whose Dad works at DelDOT. Thank you so much, Maren and DelDOT!

“I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing with a heart full of gratitude to express my deepest thanks for the financial support you have provided to my family during this incredibly challenging time. Your generosity has been a true blessing, and I want you to know how much it means to us.
As you may know, my daughter, Avahna, is currently undergoing treatment for neuroblastoma cancer. This journey has been filled with many struggles and uncertainties, but the kindness and support from The B+ Foundation have been a light in our darkest hours. Your assistance has alleviated a great deal of stress and has allowed us to focus on what matters most—Avahna’s health and recovery.
In the midst of such a difficult time, receiving help from organizations like yours feels like a direct blessing from God. It’s not just the financial support, but the hope and love that your foundation represents, that gives us the strength to keep going each day. You have made a tangible difference in our lives, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
I will forever be thankful to the Be Positive Foundation for your compassion and commitment to helping families like ours. Your efforts remind us that we are not alone on this journey, and we will carry your kindness with us always.
May God continue to bless the work you do, and I pray that your foundation continues to bring hope to many others in need.
With heartfelt thanks”
Make this week the best that you can.
