Heroes Come in Different Sizes

B+ Hero Andryk

The emotion in Andryk’s Mom’s word is just palpable. It’s very touching that this nice family wants to pay it forward sometime down the road.

“We are deeply grateful for your compassion, generosity, and willingness to stand by our family during one of the most difficult trials of our lives. Your kindness means more to us than words can ever express, and we will carry the memory of your care in our hearts forever.

Your generous donation has lifted an enormous burden from our shoulders, allowing me to focus completely on what matters most—being there for my son as he fights this devastating disease with everything he has.

I make this promise to you now: when our battle is won, we will reach out to another family just beginning their own journey down this difficult path. We will be the beacon of light in their darkness, just as you have been for us.

With our deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks”

B+ Hero Selah

“On behalf of our family, I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the generous donation towards our daughter's hospital bills. Selah Grace, our 23 month old, has had a completely healthy childhood up until her diagnosis. November 5, 2025 she started throwing up and after 3 weeks of chasing undiagnosed symptoms we were given the diagnosis that our daughter had a brain tumor. The tumor had also developed a cyst that was pinching off the pathway to drain cerebral spinal fluid out of her brain and she had emergency brain surgery to remove dangerously high pressure. The doctor said she only had two more days before her outcome would have been very different. Although we are still reeling from the nightmare that our daughter has a brain tumor, we are overwhelmed by God's provision for us in multiple ways, and one being through the B+ Foundation. Selah Grace's journey has just begun. We began chemo treatments December 16th, but we are confident that God loves her and He is walking with us through this journey and He is working all things out together for good. We hope that we may be a blessing and encouragement to other families we meet along Selah's journey. We continue to grow to trust that no matter what, God is good and He is our Provider.

Thank you, again, B+ Foundation, for being a piece of God's hand of provision to our family.”

Media Coverage

Late last week, The News-Journal/Delaware Online posted a nice video about The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation.

Wilmington Classic Ice Hockey Game

One of our favorite events is when our local heroes come together to raise awareness and money for our B+ Heroes. For the 12th time, the Wilmington (DE) Fire Dept and Wilmington (DE) Police Dept face off on the ice for the Wilmington Classic.

Before our B+ Heroes came to center ice for the ceremonial first puck drop, we held a moment of silence in honor of Delaware State Police Cpl Ty Snook who was so tragically murdered on Dec. 23, 2025.

While the outcome of the game is secondary, it was a very competitive game with the WPD coming out on top 8-5. Over $5,000 was raised and 531 people had a great time. Thank you WFD and WPD for everything that you do…and a special thanks to Battalion Chief Griff Jordan and his wife, Jeanmarie, who do the heavy lifting for this event.

Life can change in the snap of your fingers. Appreciate and make the most of today.
