Yesterday, I took a day trip out to LA for LMU’s Lip Sync competition benefiting LMUDM and The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation. This picture shows you what it looks like when you look out at 4,000 people for Parents Weekend! Very cool, outdoor amphitheater setting on a really beautiful campus. Thanks to LMU Sorority & Fraternity Life, the LMU students and their families, and the JOEY Restaurant Group, last night’s event brought in over $50,000 for LMUDM’s efforts. A nice way to gain momentum coming down the homestretch to their dance marathon next month. Uber to LAX and red-eye home. :)
ACCELERATE Research Conference - Brussels, Belgium
ACCELERATE is the research platform that brings together the 4 stakeholders needed to advance global childhood cancer drug development - Academics (the researchers), Industry (pharma), Regulators (I.e. FDA, EMA, Health Canada), and Advocacy (The B+ Foundation) organizations. The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation is proud to be the lead underwriter of this effort and we held our most recent conference last week in Brussels. We had a total attendance of 291, with 191 in person and 100 participating virtually. Attendees hailed from the EU (131), USA (71), UK (49), Japan (13), Canada (9), Switzerland (9), among other countries. We had a fascinating few days of presentations, break-out groups, and discussions.
